At 51, Roger Macmillan began his running journey after being inspired by a friend. Over 15 years, he completed numerous races, eventually running his first marathon at 68. Joining the Marathon Maniacs, he appreciated community support while enjoying various marathons. In total, he completed 115 marathons, cherishing each experience.

Brenda Folkerts, a 57-year-old former RN from Victoria, B.C., is a dedicated runner and personal trainer who overcame multiple autoimmune diseases. Emphasizing her “UNSTOPPABLE” mindset, she enjoys pacing races and plans to celebrate her 100th half marathon in 2025. Currently, she trains for a 100K race on her birthday.

Brenda Duckwall from Collinsville, OK, is an avid runner balancing work, family, and cattle care. She began running in 2011, participating in various half marathons, including the Route 66. Brenda aims to complete half marathons in all 50 states by her 50th birthday, with 25 completed so far.

Team Woody Rocks the End of the Road Half Marathon
Team Woody, consisting of Kim and Woody Michaux, enjoyed the End of the Road Half Marathon along the abandoned Pennsylvania turnpike. They expressed gratitude to Debbie Roberts for her support during the race, especially on uphill sections. The course featured two lengthy tunnels, totaling 5 miles, enhancing the experience. Woody had a great time.
Gina Forestieri Triumphs at Groom Creek Classic
Gina Forestieri completed the first half of the Groom Creek Classic in Prescott, AZ, earning first place in her age group. Although slower than usual due to challenging elevation and terrain, she successfully navigated the race. Gina noted the need for better hill training for future half marathons.
