Randy Riley(MM14470, DA3218, HF16432) – Youngstown Marathon Sole to City Half Marathon. Tough day to be the race directors. The medals were stuck in customs and the shuttle buses that were to take us from the finish line to the start before the race didn’t show up. The RDs made everything work though. They gave out previous years half marathon medals and put some of us in the Second Sole van and told the rest to drive to the start and they would get them back to their cars after the race. The medals and Age Group awards will be available on Wednesday. Hats off to them for pulling it all together!
It’s a point to point course starting at the Second Sole store in Boardman winding north through and around Mill Creek Park to the heart of downtown Youngstown on Federal St to the finish. This is a very hilly course, steep enough that you’re braking on some of the downhills. Congratulations to Rizza Salvoro Durbin who beat last weekend’s Medina time. And for reminding me to get a photo this week. I also came in a few seconds better than last week’s time and got a 3rd place AG.
