Meet Club Member: Troy Hoffland

Troy Hoffland, who began running on April 9, 2024, transformed from a non-runner at 194 pounds to a passionate marathoner weighing 160 pounds. Inspired by a friend, he embraced running, aiming to compete in the historic Boston Marathon. After following a training plan and facing an injury, he secured a spot as a charity runner, raising over $15,400 for Fisher House. Troy has since participated in multiple marathons, achieving personal records and plans to run London in 2026, motivated and supported by a community of fellow runners.

Meet Club Member: Randall Hansen

Randell Hansen began running in 2004, progressing from 5Ks to completing a marathon in all 50 states by October 2022. As a member of the Marathon Maniacs, he has achieved multiple statuses and participated in prestigious marathons, including Boston and Berlin. Despite life’s changes, he remains committed to running and connecting with friends.

Perfect Weather, Personal Record: Sadie Smith’s Winning Run at Marshall University

Sadie Smith enjoyed a fantastic marathon weekend at Marshall University, praising the fast and friendly course. Perfect weather contributed to her enjoyment of the 26-mile race. She highlighted Elizabeth Arnott’s impressive 2nd place finish and Lindsey Elste’s successful return from injury, along with a new personal record for the first female finisher.
