She aimed to push her limits beyond a marathon distance, attracting her to this local event with a generous 10-hour time limit. Although she started strong, the heat affected her pace, and fear of encountered rattlesnakes led her to slow down. Ultimately, she missed the first cutoff by four minutes. Despite not finishing, Gysel enjoyed meeting fellow runners and volunteers, and plans to return next year.

Mississippi River Marathon Recap– New Finish, Vintage Carousel & Delta Delights!
Jennifer Clark shares her experience at the annual Mississippi River Marathon in Greenville, Mississippi. This local race features a full marathon starting in Arkansas and a half marathon across the bridge, both finishing in Greenville. This year, the finish line was moved to the E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center due to changes in the course configuration. Clark enjoyed the new location, which allowed for socializing and a unique ride on a historic Merry-Go-Round. The event featured food and camaraderie with fellow runners, marking her 383rd half marathon.

Olivia Medina completed the Haunted 26.2 marathon in Ocala, Florida, marking her fifth Florida marathon on October 4, 2025. Despite only six participants finishing the official distance, she embraced the experience, relished the peaceful course, and found motivation from unexpected support. Olivia placed second overall, celebrating personal achievement in a small race.
