Meet Club Member: Ronita Bland

Ronita Bland began running in 2013 to maintain a weight loss of 40 lbs. After joining a community group, she completed multiple 5K races, Half Marathons in all 50 states, and marathons on five continents. Running has led her to new friendships and adventures, fueling her passion for the sport.

From Marbles to Miles: Conquering 100K at Blood Run

Scott Pearson participated in the Blood Run, a 24-hour race aimed at completing as many 1.5-mile loops as possible. Initially targeting 50 miles, he and friend Sara pushed themselves to complete a 100k, finishing with just 20 minutes remaining. The experience highlighted the importance of setting goals and having supportive friends.

The author, initially unathletic, became a marathon enthusiast after the chaos of September 11th. After realizing the need for fitness, they started running and aimed for marathons, completing 77 in various locations. They also enjoy biking, triathlons, and volunteering at races, while cherishing the community and experiences gained through their passion.
