Surviving Mississippi Blues
Lea Reyes completed the Mississippi blues marathon, facing challenges due to frigid temperatures that affected her performance. She encountered unsafe traffic conditions, almost getting hit by vehicles. Despite a difficult course with potholes and elevation gain, she appreciated meeting a fellow runner. Overall, she felt relieved to finish the race.
North Carolina Triumph: Oak Island Half (West Route)
Tina Torun completed the Oak Island Half Marathon, her 81st half and 35th state, enjoying the coastal race’s scenic flat route and a supportive atmosphere. Despite challenging weather, she achieved her goal time of under 3:30 minutes, met fellow runners, and celebrated at the post-race festivities.

In 2024, I experienced a remarkable year despite facing challenges, including a stress fracture that forced me to cancel races. I completed the Great Wall Marathon, enriched by the support of my future wife. I also participated in the historic Olympic Games Paris Marathon and qualified for the World Marathon Majors Championship in Sydney.

In 2004, the author moved to America, leaving behind a childhood marked by bullying in Korea. Adapting quickly, they found strength through running, culminating in their first marathon in Raleigh.
