Gina Forestieri Triumphs at Groom Creek Classic

Gina Forestieri(HF18136)– Half 91 done! (Groom Creek Classic, Prescott, AZ) This one was definitely earned! Slower than usual but still got first in my age group, it was a small race and it was super hard! Besides starting at about 6000 feet elevation, the first half was going downhill, and all I kept thinking is as an out and back. We are going to be doing 6 miles straight uphill at some point, Yep I had to walk part of it because it was just too rough at least! It was super nice to see Nancy again and meet her friend and her daughter. Funny thing is, the race start was about 1 mile from the cabin that Zach’s in-laws on! But unfortunately, they did not go up this weekend. I definitely need to train more on hills if I am planning on running half marathons that go up and down mountains!🤣
