Michelle Migneault Cox(HF17353) – Yesterday I did the Sioux Falls Marathon(half) for the 2nd time and it was my 133rd half marathon!! When I did this race in Sep 2019 it was my 25th state and 37th total half…time goes when you’re having fun!
The course has changed since then and I think it was better. It’s a little hilly in places but not horrible. The city is clean and has beautiful buildings and the people are the nicest! I love South Dakota!
Although I was last, I still had an awesome time, until I realized someone cheated, twice! Why would you cut or cheat in a race? You still aren’t gonna win? And you’re telling you friends/family you did a half marathon, but you didn’t. Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking. Like how do you live with yourself? I just couldn’t. I did another race recently and someone was behind me and then in front of me and I was like how? I didn’t stop and go to the bathroom etc…then I saw her get in the truck with her friends who were picking up cones behind us and then they drove up and would sit and wait, she would get out and start walking again! Saw her do it a couple times. It just made me sick to my stomach.
Yesterday it sucked I was slower than the cut off but knew I’d be ok. The cops weren’t gonna make us quit, she chose to quit, well, and then chose to cheat! I’m not mad that I was last instead of her, I’m disgusted and disappointed that someone would do that.
