Michelle Migneault Cox(HF17353) – Yesterday I did the Sioux Falls Marathon(half) for the 2nd time and it was my 133rd half marathon!! When I did this race in Sep 2019 it was my 25th state and 37th total half…time goes when you’re having fun!
The course has changed since then and I think it was better. It’s a little hilly in places but not horrible. The city is clean and has beautiful buildings and the people are the nicest! I love South Dakota!
Although I was last, I still had an awesome time, until I realized someone cheated, twice! Why would you cut or cheat in a race? You still aren’t gonna win? And you’re telling you friends/family you did a half marathon, but you didn’t. Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking. Like how do you live with yourself? I just couldn’t. I did another race recently and someone was behind me and then in front of me and I was like how? I didn’t stop and go to the bathroom etc…then I saw her get in the truck with her friends who were picking up cones behind us and then they drove up and would sit and wait, she would get out and start walking again! Saw her do it a couple times. It just made me sick to my stomach.
Yesterday it sucked I was slower than the cut off but knew I’d be ok. The cops weren’t gonna make us quit, she chose to quit, well, and then chose to cheat! I’m not mad that I was last instead of her, I’m disgusted and disappointed that someone would do that.

Christopher Riff Browning(MM16116) – #19 was for my mom Bethany Browning. She recently went over to Spain and hiked several sections of the Camino de Santiago with my dad and cousin. We’re very proud of you for accomplishment and glad you’re home. We know how much of a challenge it was and you made it!!
Sioux Falls Marathon was a great race in a nice town. The travel to get there was not…. On Friday the night before I was supposed to leave I got a notification that my flight was cancelled. After staying up most of the night checking to see if they rescheduled, I finally booked with another airline. Thank you United for making it happen. They actually bumped me up to first class on the second flight. I arrived in Sioux Falls later than expected so I did not get to go out and explore. There was a Jason Aldean concert right next the hotel so my sleep was a little interrupted when that let out. Based on the lack of sleep and the exhaustion I decided this was not a PR race. I ended up dropping back to run with a pacer. We had a group of 5 that stuck together through the whole race. It was a great course that followed the river for most of the way. American Airlines decided to move up my departure time so I came back and made it to the airport just in time. We landed in Dallas and were supposed to leave at 7:50. Long story short, we had 7 gate changes and it was delayed by 4 hours. I finally made it home around 4:00 AM. Thank you Katie Ott Browning for the support and taking care of the dogs while I was gone. Next up is three races on back to back weekends. That’s if American Airlines decides to be on time.

Gysel Parajon(MM8995, DA3751, HF18751) – Last year I attempted the Mammoth Trailfest 50k and did not finish. I made it through the first 2/3 of the course and missed the cutoff at the summit by a half hour. This year it sold out before I could register but as fate would have it my number was picked off the waitlist, only a few weeks ago! And thank goodness I have been training consistently! I just cranked it up by climbing some of the gnarliest uphill trails around Lake Tahoe. And it all paid off! Redemption is mine!!!
I returned this year making it my goal to finish it!! Despite dealing with some awful menstrual cramps as it was my heaviest period day, which also causes me digestive distress, I met every cutoff with a buffer! This included the arduous climb up Dragon’s Back where my race ended last year!! It was such an emotional experience that I cried once I reached the aid station. One of the volunteers gave me a bear hug and took care of me. She took the photo with the blueberry pancakes in my mouth while I held up a beer.
The last 1/3 of the race was new to me and I thought it was going to be all downhill, but no, no, that turned out to be wishful thinking. If the first 2/3 hadn’t already kicked my ass the last 1/3 really did me in with some cruel climbs. It was during this section that my shoe selection for the day also did me in. I’ll call it death by chafing, wherein my right shoe dug into the right side of my ankle and caused me to trot/limp to the finish. But, I MADE IT!!! I’M SO HAPPY!!!
And I thought, especially towards the end that I wouldn’t want to return again but now that I have rested a little I feel like I can better my time… 😁🫠
Thank you to the RD @timtollefson, all the volunteers, my fellow runners who did an amazing job out there, my beautiful son, my friends for being so supportive, especially @dirtandtears for all the great messages, and my partner @latomas for not only the messages but for helping make this day possible. ❤️

Julia K Garling(MM3960, DA2566, HF15262) – #medalmonday Marathon 332 was a true test of will and the human spirit over the elements and mother nature herself
My 14th marathon of the year was the Wabash Trace Trail. A lovely rails to trails race in Shenandoah Iowa. The purpose of the weekend was for Shane to get his 50<4 in IA, to spend the weekend running through a wooded and canopied trail, and to spend quality time with like-minded good friends.
Mission accomplished. Even though it was a very hot day, 94 degrees, it didn’t stop shane from not only finishing his 50sub4 goal in IA, he ran his fastest race of the year, coming in with a blazing 3:38, 1st in his AG, and 3rd male finisher overall.
Shane is one of the best runners I’ve ever known, unlike myself, heat doesn’t seem to bother him at all. While the rest of us struggled in the heat, he seemed to be fueled by the fire.
As for me, I wilted in the heat and truly struggled to keep going, negotiating with my body and fighting for every mile after mile 10, when the sun came out in full force. I nearly quit with 8 miles to go. It was the kind of heat that brought back memories of my attempts to buckle at the Beast of Burden hundy on 3 separate attempts.
I’m rather heat adverse by nature, I’m much more of a cold weather runner. As I ran this race I recalled a time when I collapsed at Beast of Burden 100 with only 13 miles to go, my body just fell apart and I was strapped to an IV at the medical tent that day.
This weekend’s heat rivaled that Beast of burden heat in Aug 2013. I truly had to will myself to keep going forward on saturday. I did the sensible thing and slowed down to a very fast walk and started recalling my ‘why’ and started dedicated my miles to people in my life that truly made a difference in my ability to keep it together.
I was so grateful to see the finish line on saturday and because I slowed way down, I lived to run another day.
The best part of my running journey, as always, is seeing friends from all over the country. Congratulations to everyone who braved the heat in IA. for such a small race, we had a good group of fellow 50 staters and marathon maniacs.
A giant Thank you to the wonderful town of Shenandoah for all the tireless work, the town really comes out for this race. The volunteers were amazing, the water stations were plentiful, and of course the beautiful trail was so very inviting. The canopied trees truly helped you stay cooler on a very hot and muggy day.
While it was a tough day for me at the office, I know that your success in life is directly proportional to what you do after you do what is expected of you to do. I am so grateful I found the inner strength to not give up when the going got tough and somehow, I pulled it together and got it done and I am SO very proud of Shane for finding his inner Kenyan on a very hot day and achieving his goal of 50<4 state 48 and making it a reality!
Marathon 332 ✅, spending the weekend with like-minded friends ✅, seeing Shane crush his goals, priceless.

Steve Walters(MM338, DA9, HF21) – The Pacific Northwest Marathon in Harrisburg, Oregon was my 575th marathon/ultra. It was warm and very sunny. Ran negative splits (1:59/1:57) and maintained a very even pace the whole race. My slowest mile was the first mile (9:11), my fastest mile was the last one (8:39). All the miles in between were between 8:46-9:09.

James Waddell(HF4476) – New Castle Mini Marathon. Small Town Indiana But huge on hospitality and friendship. Half Marathon #170. Had a very busy and stressful work week. Took more than a few miles to calm down and get in the groove. Runners have to totally exhaust themselves to be able to relax. LOL Half Fanatics Tri-State Running Company SWEAT IT OUT TNT Endurance Sports New Castle Indiana

Sandi Googs(HF9218) – When you’re training for a Marathon but you are also obsessed with Half Marathons and agree to pacing gigs you need to get creative with your long runs. Today I did 3.5 miles before the race and 3.5 miles afterwards to get my 20 mile long run in. I can’t believe I actually got it done. I forgot to pack a headlamp, so in the morning I ran in total darkness. Then with the high humidity I didn’t have much left in the tank for my final mileage. However, I didn’t want to let myself down and so I pushed through and got it done.
Final pacing gig before the Marathon and only one more long run before the Race!!! Maybe a few Half Marathons still

Nicole DeBord(MM15101) – I’m so excited to say that state 35 is behind me and the countdown is officially on to 50…only 15 left! How is that possible? Grateful for all the support from family and friends for this race (and past races).
Keep pushing yourself people! You are so much stronger, braver, and capable than you realize!

Jolanta Thorburn(MM15959, DA3742, HF18464) – ✨ Orca Half 2025 🐋 Lifetime half no. 88 🏃♀️
The race started in Lincoln Park in West Seattle, with the first few miles on trail before rolling onto road and the Alki Trail. There were a few climbs along the way just enough to remind the legs it wasn’t all flat, even if the course description claims it is 🤣.
The morning was cool and damp, drizzle, humidity, and overcast skies with views of downtown Seattle, Blake Island, Vashon Island, and Puget Sound peeking through.
A highlight was posing with Bruun Idun, one of Thomas Dambo’s giant trolls, watching over the park with her gaze toward the Salish Sea.
It was great to share the course with Mary Blake Baucher and to see Marilou Ubungen threre too. A giant thanks to some of the Perrigo parkrun crew who came out to cheer us on! 🙌
Fitness check ✅ 1h58:58 – happy with my result 😊
Next up: Valencia Half, Spain 🇪🇸 10/26

Eric Tunquist(MM16044) – Visiting the home of my ancestors to run my 102nd marathon! Beautiful Vilnius, Lithuania 🇱🇹 ❤️!

Alexis Davidson(MM926) – Walked the End to End Walk yesterday. Course was point to point from the Point of Ayre Lighthouse to Cregneash with an option of stopping at Peel or Dalby. 50-54F windchills with 8-30 mph winds averaging 24. Much drizzle to light rain. Went conservative with 3 layers on top plus shorts. Very glad I did. Strava says 2000 ft elevation gain. Isle of Man is very hilly! This is my 2nd walk race that counts for #marathonmaniacs credit and it will probably be my last. IMN has an incredible walking scene! 137 finished and a further 17 made it at least to Dalby. The first 4 hours were sort of okay and then the wind picked up. It was a struggle after that. I went past Dalby sub 6:15 and continued on. Had to stop a few miles later due to weather conditions and my reaction to the weather. Officially, I got credit for 27.7 miles which is an ultra. Interpolated marathon time of 5:56.

Gregg LeBlanc(MM13039, DA2537, HF4564) – The Half Boring Half Marathon is a race that is the closest race to our Happy Valley home. It runs out and back along the Springwater Trail to Gresham and back. While there is a bit of an uphill finish, it’s “relatively” flat by comparison to the HV hills.
The temperature was ideal, even though I could have done without the rain.
It was fun to see so many of my running friends including some from Marathon Maniacs, Half Fanatics, Hood & Portland To Coast Relays Teammates, and Happy Valley Run Club (HVRC). Pacing many of the races I run, I was happy with my time “racing” this one.

Gina Forestieri(MM16172, DA3808, HF18136) – At the airport headed home already Life time marathon 23 state 22 almost half way there! Air Force Marathon at Wright Patt airbase (Dayton) Was hoping to bq today… managed to stay ahead of my pace until mile 11 then my ankle crapped out, i walked a lot 🥲🥲 still got 3rd in my ag and JUST under 5 hours.. my secondary goal. To save on a hotel i tried car camping.. only slept about 2 hours🤣🤣 we had to park at the race super early but sat in my car for 90 min.. which was fine started out at 68 degrees with 70% humidity and was suppose to get HOT!! Luckily they did not call the race and it was slightly overcast so that helped.. the last hour was kinda miserable though heat wise… and the last 3 hours were just miserable but it’s done.. next marathon is next weekend in New Hampshire.. fingers crossed my ankle is ok..oh the race was actually nice! I’ve done more boring races than this before and I’ve never been a fan of “ohio” since I’m from southern Michigan… but i do love anything military

Jennifer Clark (HF16743, DA3643, MM15623) – Medal Monday!!
Elk River Rail Trail Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K
Sunday, Sept 14 2025
Gassaway WV
This is Half #353 and State #40 (Third Round)
This was a great small race with a very flat course, gorgeous scenery on a very flat course, running by a river, in the mountains!

Karen Johnson Derrick(MM12489, DA3640, HF18426) – Ran the Bismarck Marathon on Saturday, benefiting from great weather and a positive atmosphere. I achieved my goals of visiting with old friends and meeting fellow runners.
This was marathon #220..

Sue Stevens(HF8593, DA2452, MM12891) – Ran a new-to-me race this morning at the Quilcene Oyster Races Half Marathon. This was a small race with climbs along country roads, run along forest roads and some welcome downhill. Very friendly volunteers. Overall felt good and placed 2nd female overall.

Hank OnThe Hill(MM14044, DA3029, HF16561) – It was all hands on deck at today’s Autumn & Ales race with the Who’s Who of Maine road races! Privileged to be in a picture with such legends. All accomplished runners, race directors, timers, and race announcers.
Autumn & Ales Half Marathon #240; many thanks to RD for the memorable bib !! A picture perfect Maine day for a race. Maine ParkRun Queen Barbara Pelletier dropped by after her race for some great cheering!
Yes, I did NOT eat any soap energy bars today.

Scott Pearson(HF18577) – Half marathon 67 in the books this morning. This is my hometown race, so I run it whenever I am not travelling. There are so many races to choose from this time of year. The temperature was a perfect 56 at the start. The humidity a not so perfect 390 percent. I met up with Michelle Migneault Cox and Greg Schake at the starting line for a quick picture . This year they had a very odd starting corral. It was very short but then snaked back on itself on the other side of the road. I didn’t feel it was marked out very well. Otherwise it was a nice race. We got to see the falls and run along the river as well as see the downtown. I did not even mind the hills as much as I usually do, but I know that is because my last three races had nasty elevation. In comparison this race was almost flat. Overall I felt good today. I am still working to get my finish time back down. But overall I am happy with this effort. A good warm up for mighty niagara in two weeks.

Robert Manon(MM6700, DA431, HF3646) –
Mainly Marathons Northwest Series (Day 1 of 6)
649th lifetime half marathon completed this morning. Today was day 1 of the 6 day Mainly Marathons Northwest series. This was my 1st time running a half marathon in Oregon, so it was a new state for me. This series, as I mentioned, is a 6 day series that will be run in 3 states, so tomorrow it will be Oregon again, followed by 2 days in Washington and 2 days in Idaho. Today’s race was an 8 loop course. It was great seeing many familiar Mainly faces. I didn’t take too many pics today, I was just exhausted and left the race pretty soon after finishing. Congrats to all.
Mainly Marathons Northwest Series Day 2 of 6
650th Half Marathon completed this morning. This morning it was day 2 of the 6 days Mainly Marathons Northwest series. It started off with a light rain but it quickly went away. I was dealing with some stomach issues, so I just took my time and took plenty of pictures. I also stopped to chat here and there with people. I finished roughly just under 2:30. Day 3 and 4 will be in the state of Washington. So I am looking forward to a new location. Congrats to everyone who ran today.
Mainly Marathons Northwest Series Day 3 of 6
651st Lifetime Half Marathon completed this morning. Today we ran in the state of Washington. We will run here tomorrow as well before moving on to Idaho. The weather was cool and a bit chilly. It was good running weather. We are halfway through the series. It was great seeing everyone. Congrats to all.
Mainly Marathons Northwest Series Day 4 of 6
Day 4. 652nd lifetime half marathon completed. My fastest of this series so far. I started out pretty fast the 1st 3 miles, averaging about a 7:45. Dialed it back and took a walk break then a nice comfortable pace for the remainder of the race. 2 more days to complete the series. Congrats to everyone out there.
Mainly Marathons Northwest Series Day 5 of 6
653rd lifetime half marathon completed this morning and a new state added. Idaho is my 30th state for half marathons. I now have more half marathon states than marathons. I am stuck at 29 for marathons. It was a nice cool day, I took a lot of time to chat with some people, take plenty of pics and just took it easy overall. It was my 2nd slowest run this series, unofficially 2:20. There was plenty of wildlife to enjoy. One more day to go to finish the series. Congrats to everyone.

Aaron Stevens(MM14034) – I had an absolutely fantastic time pacing the Berlin Marathon this morning. This was my second time running Berlin but my first time as a pacer, which is immensely satisfying — helping first timers, providing encouragement to my fellow runners, reminding them that they can do hard things. The conditions were tough with temperatures starting at 72 and rising to 80 in the sunniest parts of the day.
This remains one of my top favorite marathons and Berlin is one of my top favorite cities to visit. My daughter/travel companion ran the 5k with me on Saturday and came out to see me on the course near Potsdammer Platz. She agrees that Berlin is a fantastic city and has great foods from all over the world and great public transport.
This was my 2nd Berlin Marathon, 18th world major marathon, 16th marathon of 2025, and 98th lifetime marathon.

Paul Nigel Addicott(MM15822) – Berlin Marathon 2025
On 21 September 2025 I took part in Berlin Marathon. This was my 9th time running Berlin, 8th time as a sub 4 pacer. Berlin is one of those all round enjoyable events for me, that ticks all the boxes. It is a World Marathon Major, it is an International event, it is relatively quick to get to (I can get there and back on a weekend), and it is affordable for me. Not only is Berlin a great event, I love the city and the food.
I set off early on Saturday morning from Gatwick. The plan was to get to the expo by 12:00, but with some delays I arrived with Scott (fellow pacer) at around 13:30. This was still plenty of time to get some lunch and enjoy the expo. I don’t tend to spend much time at expos these days as I have done many. This is my 9th Berlin Marathon, but in total this was my 173rd Marathon (plus) and my 128th time as an official pacer (including 65 marathons). It was my 12th marathon of 2025, and 9th as a pacer this year. It is also my 35th World Marathon Major.
The expo has changed location this year, and is now at Messe Sud. I initially was not keen of the change, that is until I arrived. The venue is so much bigger and better for the expo, it meant it was far less congested and just much smoother. Having been to Berlin Marathon 9 times, the lay out and feel of the expo was the best I’ve ever experienced. Considering I arrived at peak time on a Saturday, it was so quick and easy to get my stuff, meet the Pace Team organisers, pick up some fuel for the race, have an erdinger and get out.
The start and finish of Berlin Marathon is in the same place, and it is so well organised. It is a later start, which I feel should be earlier. I was asked to be there 1 hour before my scheduled start of 10:10, but I like to be in the starting pen at least an hour before, so I arrived at 08:00. It is great to catch up with the other pacers before the event.
It was a warm start, throughout the day reaching 28⁰c. I made my way to the start area where I joined the 3rd wave in “G”. As always, I got my group together, to talk about the course, race strategy and answer questions, offering general reassurance. There was a great group of runners at the start with a mix of first timers and people aiming for sub 4 for the first time. Tristan joined my group for the 4th time in Berlin.
The atmosphere at the start of Berlin is not rivalled by any others, you have the entire field all lined up on one stretch, 55 thousand people in one pack, with 100’s, maybe a thousand aiming for sub 4, all looking out for the flag.
With the heat this year I paid close attention to water stops, making sure everyone took responsibility to collect water, for drinking and pouring over their head. The water was in cups, but there was plenty. It was great that the water was really cold as well, which was welcomed with the temperature.
Whilst I expected many runners to drop-off because of the heat, it was interesting that it felt busy the whole race. It was never congested, but I never had any space around me, it was busy from start to finish.
We had a fantastic run. Probably one of the best group of runners I have ever ran with. The group spirit was strong and we ran, sang, supporting each other every step of the way.
I visibly saw at least 20 people I started with finish with me. I had half a dozen come back at the end for a hug. The heat made it so difficult that the accomplishment was so rewarding for us all.
My 8th time pacing Berlin. My fastest time remains 3:59:35 and my slowest time, 3:59:52. It was such a rewarding day, and next year I will be back for my 10th to join the Jubilee Club.

Natalie Passmore(MM16145) – Berlin Marathon! Hottest marathon I’ve ever run. 3rd Star definitely earned yesterday!.

Meet Club Member: Sam Friedman
Sam Friedman(MM11684) I had only run 11 marathons when I began to get the thought in my head to run all 50 states. My goal to run Boston was out of the way and I decided to run as many marathons as I could. I hated training so my plan was that if I could run a marathon every weekend I wouldn’t have to train and I could always be ready. Then my plan fell apart after a I incurred a knee injury following a double marathon weekend followed by a 50K race. My knee was so injured, but I managed to do 2 more marathons before I took 4 months off to heal. Once I was recovered I was able to pull off about 35 marathons per year in many states. My knee were iffy at times but got me through. At 3 other races I had to deal with semi serious heat exhaustion in 92° weather. At my final state at the 2017 Route 66 Marathon in Oklahoma, my knee was bugging me again and nearly quit on me at the half way point. I was so close, so I slowed my pace until I got the pain under control and ran to the end. It was a tremendous feeling! I’m now 60 and hoping to complete my 2nd round.

Maricris Lu(MM12438, DA2188, HF10592) – 29th Airforce Marathon Weekend ~ 75th Marathon and 15th State! Grateful for a wonderful, unforgettable and amazing weekend in Ohio! 🏃🏼♀️#medalmonday #marathonmaniacs

Ronita Bland(MM12368, DA2131, HF8514) – Who else crossed the border today?? They have great medals over there 🥰

Carla Champ Marie Simon(MM14304, DA3133, HF13789) – Ran in and finished the Fox Cities full marathon today. I finished in around 5 hours, 34 minutes. The goal for me was 5 hours, 30 minutes. It was humid out, so I had to take advantage of water stations when I had them, mostly to keep cool, but the race went mostly well. I only had a couple of side stitches I had to walk through, and the normal being cranky, brain fatigued, and stiff after the race due to my dyspraxia.

Stefanie Holliday(MM14386, DA3313, HF17442) – Ran another halfsie before hitting Minneapolis race weekend in two weeks-this one will remain my absolute favorite of all half-marathons I’ll run over and over and it’s in my own backyard near my home in Breckenridge, Colorado! Run the Rockies Half-Marathon run at 9800’ elevation from Copper Mountain to Frisco. Pictures do not do it justice! The race is always run at peak colors in the aspens when all the leaf-peepers (tourists) visit in the fall. So blessed to live here…definitely recommended!
🍁🏃🏻♀️🏃

John Shangin(MM15948) – Sioux Falls Marathon-South Dakota 4:30 Pacer
I finished the Sioux Falls Marathon this morning🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️. It was a pretty cool morning until the sun came out. It was 80 degrees at the finish line. This was a pacing job. I am thankful to be healthy enough to finish my 6th Marathon this year. This is now 23 states completed for full marathons

Ilse Werner Berube(MM15780, DA3702, HF18609) – Medal Monday Wabash Trace Marathon in Shenandoah, Iowa state 48!!! Super beautiful but super hot. Happy I made it to the finish in time! Ran half of it with Marie Carney Thomas and the second half solo. Saw Galyn Schenk as she came from the other direction on her half marathon. Small town but a fun big adventure 😀

Lisa Wilkins Wiedower(HF16948) – Medal Monday! States 42&43! Half’s 82&83: Saturday, Boise, Idaho FitOne (shout out to Julie Ford Marathon Maniac who picked up my bib and gave me great parking tip, enjoyed meeting up after race) and Mainly Marathon race Sunday in Pendleton, Oregon! Red eye home and TIRED! Fanatic # 16948

Jacqueline Worsham(HF9277) – It’s Medal Monday! Completed state 34 in Seattle, Washington. #orcahalfmarathon

Amy Sea(HF18410, DA3652, MM15648) – Today I completed Half #190 Wicked Half in Salem, MA. This is a local race for me as I confusingly live in the other Salem in NH about 45 minutes from Salem, MA. While it was nice to not have to travel much this weekend, this was definitely not my favorite race. There were a few things I really liked though. The first and most important one is it had a 4 hour time limit with the option for an early start if you need an extra half hour. I did the regular start but appreciated not feeling pressured to finish under 3 hours like so many MA races. This race is obviously in a cool location and the scenery is pretty good passing by some historic landmarks in Salem and some beautiful ocean views in Marblehead. However the race is on open roads and you are basically running with traffic the entire race and some of these roads were busy. It was kind of scary and didn’t seem that safe. A lot of the race I chose to just go on the sidewalk but the sidewalks were very beat up and it was hard to get a good pace. I’m glad I was able to check off a half marathon close to home but I wouldn’t strongly recommend this one given the open roads and busy traffic.

Darlene Schuman(HF17507) – #medal Monday! Half #157..then a 10k..then a 5k..then a 1mile to complete the Running From Squatch Squatehfecta..the hills were brutal but God is good…
Half 2:49:05, 10k 1:30:37,
5k 47:46, and 1 mile 16:16
Total time 5:23:46
