Running in the Anchorage Mayor’s Half in Alaska

Amy Seagroves (MM15648, DA3652, HF18410) -Half #87 state #39 Anchorage Mayor’s Half in Alaska. I really wanted to love this race given how far I traveled but I only liked it.

Race is point to point and starts in a park in Anchorage and ends downtown. Weather was perfect. It is pretty much all on paved trails. There were some beautiful views but a lot was just running in the woods. There were also almost no spectators except right at the end. No wildlife sightings on course but I did see a moose and calf driving to the start. Production was fine but I could have used more aid stations.

Going to spend the next week exploring Alaska and the following weekend I will be moving so I am shockingly taking the next 2 weekends off from half marathons. Next up is Mad Half in VT on July 9
