Breeze PVD/JAX

Had to squeeze this race weekend in between work travel, ie. multi city flights 🥴

Flew into PVD (Rhode Island) and then drove to Massachusetts for Saturday race. Then drove back to Rhode Island for Sunday’s race in Newport before flying back out to Florida!

If seemed to make the most logistical sense.

𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥: Hertz (airport)

𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: that “OPTIONAL” flight info these car rentals ask for, DON’T ignore it! ALWAYS provide flight arrival details, so that they can track your flight.

Our flights was delayed hrs! Didn’t arrive until after 12midnight. Hertz was still there 2hrs past their close time for vehicle pick ups! Enterprise was NOT! IDK if those passengers didn’t provide their flight details or not, BUT I’m gonna venture to say, they didn’t, cause they were just standing in line. The Hertz employee had to tell them everyone else was gone!!! You should’ve seen their faces! ANNND it’s a lonnnnng walk to the Interlynx to even reach the rental cars!

And there were really no vehicles left anyway! I literally got the last vehicle that was not electric.

It was a mess, but thank God I wasn’t one of the unlucky ones, because I had an hour and a half drive to get to Massachusetts!

𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹/𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴: N/A

I arrived so late, and had to drive so far once I landed, I literally drove straight to the race start line, parked my beautiful black jeep and closed my eyes for a few ours before race time!

𝗣𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼: N/A (race morning pick up)

𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗲:

8:00AM start… BEAUTIFUL coastal coarse 🌊 . There were corals to start, but I’d still consider this a smedium sized race! Beautiful coastal neighborhood, with amazing homes along the route. One thing some may consider a downside is that a lot of the course was open to traffic!

Be it, it was literally coastal traffic which drives pretty slowly, you were still sharing the roads often. Also, besides one bump in the road (HILL 😬), it was pretty flat and fast as advertised. So I was happy I could preserve energy for my back2back weekend with Amica Newport the next day.

𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞: great post race hot Clam Chowder and/or Turkey w/wild rice soups, donuts, etc.

I quickly learned while chatting with a volunteer that the post race location was only a 14min drive from Wood Hole ferry location to go to Martha’s Vineyard…. SO I WENT TO MARTHA’s VINEYARD for the day impromptu 🥰

It was amazing! LOVED IT @ Oak Bluffs ⛴️🛥️🚢⛵️🛥️🚤🍦🍧

I HIGHLY recommend!
