Back Where It Started: Ed Toews at the Queen City Marathon

Ed Toews(MM9501, DA3146, HF16852) – Yesterday I had the privilege of participating in the Queen City Marathon in the full marathon. When I say participate I mean mostly speed walking with very little running. Iโ€™m just grateful to be out there and able to do these events. I especially love this event because it was my first marathon I ever did back in 2012. This is a top notch event that cares about the participants and treats everyone like they are important. Every detail in the race has been carefully planned out and executed. It is an honor to be a participant. They have a 6 hour rule to finish and I needed pretty much the full time of 5:59 to complete it. I left enough cushion time in the first 16 miles to meet the cutoff but it got tight near the end when I had a little bit of back issue, and I covered too much distance. I thought I did a good job with the tangents but ended up going an extra 1/4 mile. โ€œThere will come a day I cannot do this, today was not that dayโ€.
