Marathon Maniacs/Half Fanatics at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Half Marathon
Amy Seagroves ( HF18410, DA3652, MM15648) -Today I completed my final half of the year! Half #160 NYRUNS Big Apple Half in NYC. This race is fine. Just loops in Central Park but production is good and swag is really fun. I can’t believe I finished 52 half marathons this year meaning I averaged 1 half marathon every week! Now I’m about to do something even crazier for me and take 5 weeks off from Half Marathons! Next up is Bermuda January 19 but I have a lot of shorter races to keep me busy until then! Here’s to a great 2025. I have some really exciting races planned including Antarctica and my 50th state but I probably won’t run as many half marathons as this year

290th lifetime Marathon/Ultra and 590th, 591st and 592nd lifetime Half Marathons for me.
The Medals hadn’t arrived until the 3rd day so I had to use a Hershey’s Kiss as a replacement for a finishing medal the 1st day and a box as my medal on the 2nd day. Thankfully they came in on the 3rd day and so did Navajo Santa Claus.

Race13.1 Durham, it was freezing 🥶 🥶20 degrees at start! My toes froze along with every other part of my body. I had three layers on the bottom parts of my body and 4 layers up top plus hand warmers.🥶🏃🏽♀️🥶🏃🏽♀️🥶🏃🏽♀️🥶🏃🏽♀️🥶🏃🏽♀️🥶🏃🏽♀️
Anita Burns (HF #7613) and I were blessed to be able to pick up our friend Sharon Sunshine Sou (HF #12101) so that she could run with us. Sharon also got first place in her age group 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
As the national anthem was playing, I looked around and saw someone signing it and I took a double look and said, “ that’s my Cousin Ethel Belair. It’s always good to to see your Team Take Down family 🥰
Valerie and Karen ran the 10K and for some crazy reason they stood in the freezing cold 🥶 and waited to cheer us all in 🥰🥰🥰

Kevin Gonzalez (HF613, DA413, MM6572) – MedalMonday 2024 Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Half Marathon and the final RnR Event in San Antonio after 16 years.
Michael Neff(HF18434) – A beautiful morning in Santa Monica to wrap up another year of running a half marathon a month. 173 lifetime total.

Nestor Raul Anzola(HF1932) – Memphis St Jude Half Marathon 2024 – SORRY! No race report today. I was on my way to coach Team Dramatik-4, but I was abducted by an alien at the start of the race. 👽 What a scary experience! 😱 – My apologies! 😔

Gavin Anderson (HF14007) –10th time doing the St. Jude Half Marathon (Memphis, TN) on Saturday — the race that started my Half Fanatics journey. HF # 14007.
Krista Shuler(HF18421) –The last Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio race. (My 11th.) This year I ran the half.
Jennifer Clark (HF16743, DA3643, MM15623)– Late again for Medal Monday! Texas Quad! 4 days of Half Marathons Dallas. Thanksgiving Day through Sunday. Half #311-313
Sue Stevens(HF8593, DA2452, MM12891)-In 2010 I finished my first Half Marathon at Seattle. Yesterday I ran my 400th official (possibly more, losing track of what counts) Half Marathon in Seattle, where it all started. I could never have imagined the wonderful people and adventures my running journey has brought me!
Meghan O’Gorman (HF14020)– Medal Monday!
I leveled up to Earth over the weekend by completing 4 halfs in 4 days at the Texas Quad.🥳
Received a medal each day, plus a bonus one for completing all 4 days, plus a nice finisher jacket!
3 more halfs left in 2024 before a little break!

Joan Chandler Langkow(HF18647) – A beautiful and chilly morning for the Seattle Marathon and 1/2 Marathon! In spite of a respiratory virus, sinus infection and eye infection interrupting training, I was well enough to run and not break my 1/2 per month since recovering from donation. Warming tent was pitch black and stinky
45 minute wait in corals before my letter group could start.
10 minutes loss of time on the course waiting on bathroom
Had to prep my hydration at the race because liquids were not allowed through security “cold wet hands”.
Expensive parking
Bad drivers and pedestrians with a death wish
If you ever run this race, just pay the extra money and stay downtown.
