Weather was perfect. Aid stations had water, electrolytes, pepsi , bananas and bars. Volunteers were super nice and helpful.
Course was well marked with cones and barricades. Volunteers were around in case one gets confused on where to go ( like me on my second loop and nobody in front of me to follow coz they’re all speedy).
Mostly ran on the road but some parts on dirt and cobblestones.
Before reaching the finish line, there were cobblestones which seemed never ending to me (coz i really don’t care for them coz i can’t run on them).
I just walked on it so as not to trip and injure myself.
The course to me is quite hilly but there were downhills too which was definitely runnable! Not too steep for me but knees still didn’t like it.
Spectators were ok especially the one by the restaurants. We had to weave through this chute and spectators were there to cheer you on. I appreciated that the most coz i was dying at that point.
Bad thing that i really didn’t appreciate is on my second loop of the course, half marathoners caught up with me. They were all zooming by me, hitting and elbowing me. One lady hit my hand and she didn’t even say anything.
I had to run/jog on the side by the spectators so as not to get hit and get trampled by speeding big guys! That totally slowed me down. Thank goodness i had enough time to finish before the cutoff time of 6 hours. Otherwise i’ll be so mad. 😡
Next: Berlin marathon on Sunday 😵💫
