Laurie Weiner (MM15681, DA3668, HF9266) -Race Report: Today I completed Detroit Free Press international Half Marathon. The course was fabulous. We run in 2 countries, passed Detroit sports facilities, through downtown. Running over the Ambassador Bridge into Canada never gets old. Running under water for a mile in Windsor Tunnel is so cool as you come back into the USA. The crowd support is so amazing on both sides of the border. Today was more for fun as this was my 3rd half marathon in 3 weeks. Oh and I got interviewed on the course by a Canadian News crew.
I completed this race with 55/27 intervals. This is the longest distance I have run at this interval.
The weather ended up being chilly, but the rain stopped in time for race start and the clouds broke to sunny skies! Thank you Detroit and Canada! The only thing missing was Fitz Koehler as race announcer! Detroit Free Press Marathon chose not to sign her up again this year to save $$. No energy at the start or finish. This race would be so much better with Team Noisy on the start and finish!#medalmonday
