Charlene Board (HF7024) – What a weekend, I ran my 100th Half Marathon (Half Fanatic #7024)in ATL today with my run crew ( Anita Burns #7613, Renae Larson #18688, and Bisceglia Gaston #18716 ) they came to support me and boy did we do it! They ( are much faster than me but they stayed with me the entire race) it was challenging due to the many hills ATL have not to mention the rain at mile 2.5 for a while and then at 12.5 but we did it!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
After the race Mrs. Tricia Davis & Mr. Aubrey Davis #18587 we’re #18538 waiting for us at the finish line 🙏🏾🙌🏽🙏🏾🙌🏽🙏🏾, they did the 5K and finished 1st and 2nd in their age group 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I just want to share this real quick, the friends you make in this run group are real run friends, the support and cheer for each other 100%. I’ve met Half Fanatics for the first time as we’ve shared hotels/ Air BNB’s together, some have even opened their homes up to me and I have done the same) I pray that no one in this run family will ever mess it up because we are FAMILY.
After the race we headed back to my sisters house to shower and get ready for the after party ( which my Mom -Mary Mary Mercer-Jordan drove up from Florida along with my Cousin Mary from Alabama, my niece Leah Louisville and her family from Charlotte, NC, family Beverly and Sabu Williams from Florida and many other family members in the Georgia area. My daughters from NC – Alexis and Mercedes Castro and Husband Mark A Board. My life long friends Jonathan and Antanette Hunter all showed up for me) My count is was 39 people there and I just want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT TO MY Sister and Brother in law Jackie & Frank for always welcoming my friends to their home.
Thank you Anita & Renae for the beautiful shirts we wore today🙏🏾
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you 🙏🏾 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾when I tell you my family showed up and showed out for me they really did! We had a seafood boil ( crab legs, sau, shrimp, mussels, corn, and red potatoes) Brittany Quincy and Leah showed out with the New Orleans seasoning 😋😋😋, hot dogs, chicken wings, potato salad, pea salad, homemade pound cake, homemade whip cream, and fresh strawberries)
Here are just a few pictures of my day🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
