The Coeur d’Alene Marathon

Sameer Khurana (MM13642, DA2835, HF15807) – Coeur d’Alene Marathon in the state of Idaho ~ 38th Lifetime Marathon, 13th State and 3rd of 2023!

The weather conditions were humid due to last evening and night’s rain. Race started from McEuen Park with initial 2.5 miles running in the neighbood streets and then turning into Coeur d’Alene Lake Dr. which is very scenic and beautiful running next to the lake with rolling hills.

The turnaround was around at 8ish mile on top of a hill and then run back towards the start line on the same course which was around 16 miles.

Got a glimpse of post race celebrations by seeing half marathon runners crossing the finish line with big cheers from the crowd.

Now, we had to follow the same half marathon course for the next 10 miles. By this time due to humidity, I started feeling dehydrated and could feel the body is slowing down. Fortunately, legs were still strong so kept going at easy pace running mainly on the bike path till around 21 miles turnaround.

Now, it was the final leg to run back to the finish line. The course is beautiful running next to the lake, park and neighbood sections.

Overall a beautiful, scenic and hilly course which reminded me of Columbia Gorge Marathon in OR.
