Earning the Gold Medal in Honolulu

Tina Lam (MM15672, DA3665, HF16109) — I earned my gold medal for the 50th Anniversary of the Honolulu Marathon today! It was my first full marathon, since I became a Double Agent last year when I did 2 marathons within 16 days. I saw quite a few Marathon Maniacs on the course. Marathons are not really my favorite race distance, but the Honolulu Marathon has a special place in my heart. It was the first full marathon that I ran in 2008. No regrets, but somehow yesterday- I did the Merrie Mile, walked to and from the park plus 2 hikes, walk to and from dinner, which ended up being 12.6 miles in steps. So I started the race a little bit tired. I have a really long post later with tons of photos! They said perfect weather for running here- 75F, windy, but humid for me. I survived, but I have a huge blister on the ball of my foot and got chaffing from all the sweat. Just keep smiling, even though I was in so much pain at mile 20 and walked the last 10k.
