Katie Galvin (HF18478) I can now say that I’m a Berlin Legend! (What all finishers are called)

After fighting off a slight cold/allergies/not covid, my goal was to start as far up as I could in corral H to give myself a little time buffer and make it past all the cut off points. I did! It wasn’t my best race by far, but it was a great experience!
Got to see Beth Rusher at the start and met some really nice women from NY (Angela and Maureen) who i lost in the corrals. 🤷♀️

A nice, mostly flat course, running past a ton of sights, with tons of awesome volunteers and spectators throughout! I was good through mile 15-16 but then things got a bit rough…

My tank top had my name and an American flag on it. People were cheering throughout the race.

But the amount of people lining the lead up to the Brandenburg Gate were awesome! Both sides of the race path started chanting my name and USA, and it was indescribable!! Definitely the extra boost needed to run through the gate to the finish line! My phone died at mile 24ishbut another runner I befriended towards the end of the race took some pics and sent them to me😀 off to Munich before flying home
