Wicked worm 12 hour in Grand Rapids, Mi
This was last weekend. Most technical trail run in West Michigan is a good description. This is a 4.2 mile loop. I had so much fun but the one mile part that is not in the woods just heated me up. The race was very well organized. One main aid station with a good selection of food and willingness to go grocery shopping if you wanted something else. Back in the woods at about half way they had water, ICE and icees all day. A huge blessing.
I really used my wrist towel and cooling towel to keep my temperature down. I like to always keep moving during these events so I power hiked a lot and ended up with 1st in my age group and #3 overall female.
I do plan on going back next year.
