Finishing Her 50 States Journey in Alaska

Congratulations to Penny Martin Wilbanks (MM15295, DA3642, HF18435) – who finished her first round of 50 States June 22, 2024 at the Anchorage Mayor’s Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska on June 22, 2024

This is Penny’s 1st Round of 50 states.

Penny Martin Wilbanks (MM15295, DA3642, HF18435) – Medal Monday! On Saturday I finally did it. 50th state ~Alaska DONE! ✅
While most people hunkered down over the pandemic I was able to fast track my 10 year goal of doing the 50 states into a 6 year finish! Due to great friends and cheap airfares I was able to find small races that were still going and knock out a lot more than I ever imagined. I never want to hear the phrase “all races were cancelled” because that simply was not true. I’m a testament to this. Chelsie Thurman at Bodies Race company for the tutu to help make my finish spectacular. Thank you to everyone for all your friendships and support. I’m already 4 in for round 2….and 64 down for my goal of 100 marathons… so onward and upward.
