Amy Seagroves (HF18410, DA3652, MM15648) – This weekend I completed a double half marathon weekend in Southern California. It seems I went to the one place in the country that had perfect running weather. I used to live in Southern California so this was a repeat state
Saturday I completed Half #109 San Diego Resolution Run in San Diego. This was a nice, smaller race through a park in San Diego. I really liked the first 4.5 miles which was a loop around a little Island but I was as big of a fan of the last 6 miles which was an out and back that was very crowded from non race participants using the park. Overall it was a solid race. Not the most exciting race in California and wouldn’t be my first choice for 50 staters but it was a nice way to start the weekend and worked well as a double
Today I completed Half #110 Disneyland Half Marathon. This was my first Run Disney Race and I have a lot of thoughts. There were things I loved and things I hated about this race. Obviously it’s Disney and it has great swag and great entertainment and it’s super cool to run in the park. I also used to live in Anaheim so I even enjoyed the more boring parts of the course. However it is so crowded and I got pushed a few time and the aid stations were a hot mess (not the volunteers fault just too many participants and not enough space). This was definitely an experience and I’ve never experienced such a party atmosphere for a race although it may have been too much of a party atmosphere for me.
