Medal Monday brings many stories of achievement for our members. Here are recent stories from the Marathon Maniacs and Half Fanatics, as told by you, as posted on the Marathon Maniacs/Half Fanatics Facebook pages.

Tim Goedeker (HF16713)

Missed Medal Monday 😮 Ran the Run the Rockies Road half in Frisco, CO (no medal but nice beer glass) & Cheyenne Marathon & Half Marathon, this past weekend. 48th & 49th states, 62nd & 63rd halfs. State #50 in Portland, ME on Oct 2. 9000+ foot altitude in CO was tough, but beautiful scenery made up for it. 6000 ft in Cheyenne was appreciated.

Jennifer Clark (MM15623, HF16743) Had such a good time in Salem MA! Saw a lot of friends on the course at Wicked Half!! Finished State #47 Second Round and #217 total Halfs!

James Waddell(HF4476) #MedalMonday Did the City of Roses Half Marathon and found a fellow HF Brian Pritchard (HF18343)

Khasmir Price-Aye (HF5145)

Gotta love free race photos. I really enjoyed Beat the Blerch Half Marathon in Carnation, Washington last weekend. It is one of the most peaceful and scenic races I’ve done. I highly recommend.

Natalie Uyeno(HF15186, DA3505, HF17314)

China Peak Running Festival 25K. They gave us handmade amulets instead of a traditional medal. This 15-mile trail race at over 7,000 feet elevation was tougher than any road marathon I’ve ever done!

Dailyn Valdez (HF18660)

This half was a hot one in Paris Tx 😅 Super scenic covered trails pretty bridges & flat course too! Their Eiffel tower was so cute 🙂

Scott Pearson (HF18577)

Ran the Air Force Half Marathon today. Half number 28. State number 10. It was an awesome race. A bit hilly but a great time

Ron Childress (HF15826) Half #115 Air 2022 Air Force Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, Relay

Amy Seagroves (MM15648, DA3652, HF18140)

After my not so pleasant experience with my last half marathon and recovering from injury I decided to take the summer off from any more half marathons and just did shorter races. But good news I am back! Finished half #55 a repeat state today at the Hamptons Half in NY. It was a scenic and flat course with a 6 hour time limit so perfect for a comeback race. I was very happy with my finish time. I just wanted to complete it in under 3 hours and finished in 2:48! This is a very nice mid sized race and I would definitely recommend it. Tomorrow I will be at the Bronx 10 miler if anyone else is planning to do that race

Barbara Rausch (MM14998, DA3430, HF16197)

Medal Monday. Triple Race weekend! The Oaktown Challenge in Oakland, CA on Saturday which is running the half followed by the 5k and then on Sunday, I ran the Delta Harvest Run half in Brentwood, CA. I managed to earn 1st place in my age group. 😁

Dailyn Valdez (HF18660)

Marathon #162

Erica Sanders-Hurst (MM7182)

State #39… Marathon #63… Cheyenne Marathon… Cheyenne, Wyoming…
This was my most physically and mentally challenging marathon to date but I finished… I met a Firefighter from Iowa along the course… He’s on his second round of 50 States… I didn’t get his name but we ran a bit together and had a good conversation… If he’s out there and he happens to see this post… It was nice meeting you… Congrats on your finish… And YES… I made my flight back to Chgo after driving back to the Denver International Airport right after finishing the race… LOL… #MM7182

Keith Olson (MM11347)

Here is the group picture from the Idaho Running Day Marathon. Yep, just me as far as I know. Double out and back with Half, 5k and 10k people on the same narrow trail. Great weather, fairly flat, plenty of aid stations and beautiful scenery.

Jamie Hardy (MM9539) GMS Queen City Marathon.

Whoomp there it is! Not a PB. But considering I recently gave blood and recovered from covid I’ll take it!

Brenda Folkerts (MM15695, DA3674, HF18068) Cascade Express Half Marathon, WA
