Christie Clinic Illini Challenge

Ruthie E Maldonado-Delwiche (HF17679) – Just got home from running the Christie Clinic Illini Challenge in Urbana, Champaign. All I can say is Christie Clinic got it right. From start to finish … OMG! The customer service was amazing; the 5k on Friday night was so fun and spectators unbelievable. The course was great and despite the chill in the air, I PR’d and was one happy runner. Today we ran the Half Marathon. Woke up to no rain which was a good thing being that is was predicted. 🙂 Prayers answered. We did get a few down pours while running, but heck it helped cool us down. Was it easy? Heck no … wind was not nice, chilly temps, and rain. BUT the spectators … once again they were out in full force. The volunteers were everywhere. I am still in shock. From parking to getting the delicious pizza, chocolate milk, cookies, water and six awesome medals … Christie Clinic Illini Challenge has made it to the top of my short list of favorite races! They know how to treat their runners to keep them coming back. Thank you to all who made this race possible and to all who were there helping throughout. And to the volunteers … THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! You guys stayed in the rain to cheer us on. Talk about true spectators. Thanks for a wonderful experience!!!! I am sure I will be back again.
