I became a MM in early 2020. Right before the “pandemic” hit. I was determined to continue to race to earn all 50 states and earn levels in the maniacs club. One of the things that going to all the “smaller” races and keeping on running was the opportunity to meet so many wonderful “regulars” that kept on too. After running today’s NYC marathon I don’t think I really would have gotten to know so many of you the way I did. So for me the one positive that came out if these challenging times is too have met so many MM folks. I remember my first one was the famous Ken Fattmann at the Hells half acre in July along with Tami Ting. At every race since then I met someone new and now when I see “your” post I have such fond memories of our meeting and can’t wait to meet up again. So for me these covid times were really positive. With that being said-the big races although very fun are kind of sad to me personally cuz I don’t seem to meet anyone anymore. And that was the highlight often times of the race. Except I did finally meet the infamous Jc Santa Teresa at the picture and was warned by everyone to stay away from him. () And that’s what friends are for! Good to be a Maniac!!

TCS New York City Marathon #2 and lifetime marathon #14…DONE!!! The crowds and the field were smaller this year but that NYC magic was still in full effect. There truly is no race like this on the planet.

Medal Monday as the NYC Marathon is now in the books for Marathon State #48. Finished in 3:11:07 after just 3 weeks of rest and recovery from Atlantic City. Excellent course, great weather, good sites, and lots of crowds cheering us on. INY
