Congratulations to all of our members who completed an event this month!

Ronita Bland(MM12368, DA2131, HF8514) – I completed the Cape Town Marathon yesterday!!! I was so glad to see fellow Maniac Richard (from NY) at the start line❤

Sarah Modlin(MM16050, DA3774, HF18797) – First double marathon weekend! Hartford, CT (04:36:15)+ Baystate, MA (04:31:54)!
I was extremely nervous about being able to complete both in one weekend! I just took my time and didn’t worry about being fast or anything!
I definitely want to do something like this again! Maybe a trifecta????

Gysel Parajon(MM8995) – Double Marathon Weekend, Part 1: Baltimore, Saturday October 19, 2024, State 19, Marathon #73.
I was going to try to be concise and do a write-up on both races this weekend in one post but I cannot do it. Plus there were so many things to see, especially in Baltimore. So here goes Day 1.
I slept in on Saturday as my airbnb was across the street from the start line. I knew I was staying close but I didn’t realize how close until the day before. It was a beautiful day for a running tour of Baltimore. I felt really good for most of the race up until mile 22 when my feet started seizing up followed soon after by my legs. Despite this I kept moving. The crowd support was fantastic. The people of Baltimore are wonderful people. And the course is hilly but I truly prefer that. There was a good section between miles 9 – 15, or thereabouts that were flat and they were hard for me. That’s where I incorporated more of a run/walk segment and then more of a walk/run segment in the last four miles because my feet and legs were pretty sore.
I saw another runner cut the course, which was so shocking to me at the moment that I didn’t say anything right then but I did report her to the racing company. I hope others did too. She was hard to miss in a bright neon orange outfit with a caution tape design that I had photographed early in the race because of its uniqueness. The second image here in this post.
Despite slowing down in the second half due to the cramping in my legs I really enjoyed this race and the city of Baltimore. I wouldn’t mind tackling it again.

Ilse Werner Berube(MM15780, DA3702, HF18609) – Medal Monday State #43 Duke City Marathon elevation no help for this Florida flat lander but got ‘er done ✅ Was super thrilled Mitch Berube joined in on the trip and ran the 10k and was there to cheer me on at the start and finish. 7 more to go can’t believe it.

Tracy Strub(MM999, DA2549, HF15201) – Happy Medal Monday! New Mexico ✔️✔️. State #25 for Summer Carter and #29 for me. Planning next year’s calendar now!
— with Summer Carter in Albuquerque, NM.

Bill Misek(MM12300) – medalmonday
Did the half marathon at the Seven Bridge marathon event. Used as part of training for full races in nov and dec. I’ve always enjoyed this event having done the full a couple of times previously.

Rob Foote(MM15987)- Ran my first double: Baltimore Marathon on Saturday & Atlantic City Marathon on Sunday.

Amy Michele Lambert (MM12758) – Marathon or greater #189 yesterday. St Pats 24 hour in South Bend, IN. 3ish mile loop, fantastic trail, people, aid station. The RDs are amazing.
75 miles in 22 hours was enough fun for me. There are so many events this time of year but this one is on our schedule in ink.

Donna Sarasin(MM15364, DA3562, HF6371) – medalmonday
The Champlain Islands Marathon in South Hero VT. A beautiful course with rolling hills and some strong wind off Lake Champlain. This race was well organized, the volunteers were friendly, and I loved the special surprises along the way like running through a bubble machine and motivational messages written in chalk on the road. Beautiful scenery and weather. Marathon #13

Dasa Raghavan (MM13535) – 10/20/24: State #29 IA ✔️

Karin Herzmann(MM7466) – Medal Monday…
Last Saturday, I completed my 50th state journey in Baltimore, Maryland. The quest that started in 2006 by running the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon came full circle. The course was very hilly, and therefore very challenging, but I did it. It was an epic day with excellent friends! A special thanks to all who supported me. I am now a 50 States Marathon Club finisher 🇺🇸

John Shangin(MM15948) – State number 16 complete ✅Kansas City Marathon =>️ Missouri 🏁🏃♂️#10 this year😁

Amy Lynn (MM9429) – Medal Monday with my 7th Chicago marathon! Might not have been what I was hoping for but had a great time! Who else ran yesterday?

Jason Dennis (MM15469) – MEDAL MONDAY: Completed my 1st World Major marathon…with Illinois as my 30th state! As a charity runner, I also got extra bling (hero 🥇) for raising more than $3K for Team World Vision.
Proud to be one of almost 52K finishers at the epic 46th Chicago Marathon. And support on the course was INCREDIBLE, with more than a million spectators! I wrote my name on my jersey…and heard people cheer me by name maybe 200 times while I was #running by.

Carla Champ Marie Simon (HF13789, DA3133, MM14304) – Yesterday, I finished the Chicago Marathon, marking my 37th lifetime marathon/ultra marathon since I started running marathons in 2017. This was my second Chicago Marathon finish; I also ran it in 2019. I completed this year’s race in around 5 hours and 50 minutes, compared to 5 hours and 43 minutes in 2019.
The wind and nausea presented some challenges on the course, but I managed to address the nausea by realizing I needed more food. Without a guide to help me, I grabbed some bananas and pretzels at an aid station, which really helped. I was able to keep moving without feeling awful, and I finished another marathon!
My next race is the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon on November 9th.

Karen A Flynn (HF1043, DA158, MM4024) – MedalMonday #MotivationMonday from my 2nd #chicagomarathon (my 1st was 24 years ago), 4th YTD & 84th lifetime marathon plus my 20th BQ on Sunday 10/13/24. The marathon is such a humbling & emotional experience so after 45 years of running I am so grateful that my body performed in such a way that I was able to feel so strong from start to finish but I am sure that the almost 50,000 other runners, 2 million spectators & amazing course scenery had a lot to do with being able to push through the challenge that marathons always are! Now off to recover & get ready for the next one in 2 weeks! More pictures to come!

Dan Delino (MM4049, DA161, HF1058) – 2024 Chicago Marathon, Chicago, IL (26.2 miles/42 kilometers) 4:56:08. Marathon No. 82. State No. 47. World Major No. 1.

Nick Polanowski(MM16057) – First World Marathon Major is now in the books, Bank of America Chicago Marathon is complete.
After a summer of less training than normal due to vacations, anniversaries and weddings; the lack of Speedwork & Long runs definitely showed itself.
So, going into it I didn’t have super high expectations. I figured if I could run a 3:40 I would consider that a win with the lack of training. Turns out I was pretty damn close with a 3:44:14.
I am SUPER HAPPY with the whole experience, race, finish & running with 2024 Team Imerman Angels.
