Today is My 200th Half

Barbara Rausch (HF16197, DA3430, MM14998) – The day was February 13, 2016 when I ran my first half marathon at Bay Breeze in San Leandro, CA. Today, seven years, eight months, and 24 days later, I ran my 200th half at the Golden Gate Half in San Francisco. I never, never, never intended to do this. I was happily running 5ks and a few halfs. Somewhere along the way, 2021, I kicked up the half running and haven’t looked back. LOL!
Today was a great day! Who doesn’t ❤️ running a race across the great Golden Gate Bridge? The weather in San Francisco was very strange this morning. The race started at 6:50am. The temp was about 62° and very humid. It wasn’t cold even running across the Golden Gate and back. The course is beautiful.
Thank you to Jen and Rachel for being at the finish today. Rachel made the awesome sign for me and Jen printed and laminated the “Today is My 200th Half” sign that I wore on my back. I received lots and lots of congratulations while on course.
Here’s to many more half marathon and here’s to the health benefits that comes from all this running.
