Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon: A Windy, Wonderful Adventure

Karen Murray Anderson (MM8075, DA576, HF5492) & Glen Anderson (MM2674)-🌊 Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon ✔️ A beach marathon most times comes with its fair share of wind—and it was no different this time – we pushed against it for a full 26.2 miles! Buses dropped us off at the start line in Pass Christian near Henderson Point and we run along the entire coastline to Biloxi. While I have heard some say it’s boring, I am never bored running along a beach.
As I always say, a beach marathon usually means tackling the wind in one direction and can be a blessing and a curse – and wow, did we get a workout pushing against it for 26.2 miles! 💨 While battling the wind is tough, it definitely kept us cool. We faced a little unexpected rain, which was actually refreshing, but the clouds eventually gave way to the sun, reminding us just how powerful nature can be. ☀️
Nothing could overshadow the incredible experience of running with friends, soaking in the beautiful views, and crossing that finish line ahead of the time limit! 🥇🏖️
Cheers to more adventures, new challenges, and the wind that keeps pushing our limits and moving us forward! 🌟💪
Here’s a fun fact about me: since I was about 10 years old, I’ve been able to spell Mississippi forwards and backwards. It’s a quirky little exercise that always brings a smile! Give it a try – you might surprise yourself! 😊
