The End of a Journey

“The best part of life’s journey is who you get to share it with.”

This week marks the end of a very long journey. Kelly and I have now been to all 50 states together and I have run a marathon in all 50 states. The average American visits about 11 states in their lifetime, we did that in one month last year. It’s been an exhausting adventure, but so worth it. Along the way we’ve visited the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Niagara Falls, meteor crater, and Mendenhall Glacier just to name a few of the amazing places we’ve seen and experienced. Most of the states have come over the last year and a half or so, visiting 40 states in that time. We have flown over 60,000 miles and driven over 22,000 miles. 50 marathons is over 1,300 miles of running, on trails, roads, at elevation, in the heat, in the cold, and everything in between. It’s been a crazy adventure.
